Questions and AnswersQuestions and Answers

What is the number of STORJ tokens in circulation?
There are a total of almost 425 million STORJ tokens in existence. Currently, there are 245 million STORJ tokens held in reserve by Storj Labs for future uses in a long-term time lock. The current approximate circulating supply can be found on CoinMarketCap. The difference between the total reported as circulating supply on Coinmarketcap and the total number of unlocked tokens are tokens being held by Storj Labs that are immediately available to slowly enter the circulating supply by way of farmer payouts, community leader compensation, bounty payments, etc, plus any tokens that were held in the lockup contracts from the token sale but that have not yet been released by the purchaser of these tokens. You can find more details about the token sale here https://storj.io/blog/2017/09/token-sale-wrap-up-details/
What happens to the SJCX that don't get converted?
SJCX token holders that did not convert their tokens can continue to hold them in their wallet, or send them to another compatible address. We can’t force people to convert their deprecated SJCX tokens to new STORJ tokens. However, the old SJCX tokens have no value on the Storj network, they cannot be used to rent storage space or any other Storj supplied services. In order to take advantage of the Storj network, SJCX holders should convert their old tokens as soon as possible to STORJ tokens while the converter app is still available to do so.
What were the STORJ token sale instructions?
Participants of the token sale held during the year 2017 were given the following instructions on our token sale website: Token Sale Participation You can participate in the Storj Token Sale using either BTC or ETH to fund your purchase BTC participation requirements: A BTC refund address A receiving Ethereum address - This Ethereum address must be from an ERC20 compatible wallet (such as Parity, Mist, MetaMask, and MyEtherWallet). Your STORJ tokens will be delivered to this address. We cannot fill your order unless you have an Ethereum account with an ERC20 compatible wallet. An email address - For sale-related notifications. We won't ever disclose your email to third parties. Receiving and refund addresses cannot be exchange addresses, unless you own the private key. ETH participation requirements: A receiving Ethereum address - This Ethereum address must be from an ERC20 compatible wallet (such as Parity, Mist, MetaMask, and MyEtherWallet).
How did Storj Labs spend the revenue earned during the token sale?
Storj Labs is using the revenue gained from the token sale to expand the team of technical and non-technical staff, fund business growth and product development, and continue working towards the goal of becoming the best distributed, decentralized cloud storage platform. More details are outlined in the token sale terms https://storj.io/sale-terms.pdf
I provided an exchange wallet address. What can I do?
We made every effort possible to stress the importance of not using an exchange wallet in the terms of sale, through the payment web application, and numerous times on the token sale website. As a result, we are unable to guarantee receipt of the tokens, if these instructions were not followed. You would need to contact the support site of the exchange that you used a deposit address from for the token sale, in order to get assistance with recovery of your funds.
What do I need to do to receive my STORJ tokens at the end of the time lock?
You will need to broadcast a transaction at the end of the time lock. That transaction will tell the time vault smart contract to send your tokens to your pre-registered receiving address. If you purchased tokens with a lockup contract, an email with exact instructions how and when to relase the tokens was sent to you already. All time lock contracts already have passed their expiration date, so you may use the instructions you received in the email to release your tokens at your convenience now.
How can I use the STORJ token?
You can use the STORJ token to buy storage on the Storj network, to power apps and ecosystems built on the Storj platform, and to gain access to other services that may be offered by the Storj platform, such as DNS and TLS automation and satellite contracts. As the number of apps and ecosystems built on the Storj network grows, so too will the number of uses for the STORJ token!
What is the STORJ token?
STORJ is a utility token on the Ethereum network which follows the ERC20 standard. STORJ tokens allow you to purchase storage or earn money for renting your free hard drive space. STORJ uses the Ethereum blockchain for its transactions.
Did Storj Labs accept fiat during the token sale?
No, only payments in ETH and BTC were accepted during the token sale to purchase STORJ tokens.
Where are my STORJ tokens?
Sent your SJCX to the converter but still haven't received your tokens? Please fill this form out and we would be more than happy to look into what happened for you.
